If you live in a Seattle and are craving butter and sugar...

... you should stop by the Pioneer Bakery. Sectioned in between shops off a narrow street in Puyallup, Washington, this bakery is straight up like sitting in someone's kitchen. Known mostly for their wedding cakes and baked goods, the lunch menu was incredibly satisfying, boasting rich soups and buttered sandwiches. Everything is made from scratch, and although the decor isn't out of this world, they make up for it with historic photographs and artifacts revealing that the shop has been serving the public for 83 years. Eighty. Three.

That's a lot of time to perfect donuts and soup recipes. With winter will breezing through in the northern states, ordering a soup and sandwich combo followed by a giant snicker doodle is hardly an unpopular notion.

Get you some and tell them I sent you!
